Programming Interface for AVR

Designer: JerryD
Level: Beginner

By providing a 40-pin ZIF socket on a small, solderless breadboard, a few jumper wires and a "demo" ATtiny2313 AVR chip, this kit resolves issues encountered when using "programmers" for the AVR family of microcontrollers. Now, you can select whichever AVR chip you want to use, look up the pins that need to be connected to the programmer, place your signal wires from the programmer connector, place your chip in the ZIF socket and you're ready to program!

Tach-Rotor Adapter PLUS

Designer: markdpend
Level: Intermediate

The Tach-Rotor Adapter PLUS provides three functions: fault indication, rotor-locked conversion, and speed sensing, display and sound. Users can program additional parameters to customize it to their systems, programming remains stored even if power is removed and defaults can be restored. The addition of sound enhances visual alerts while providing a convenient feedback mechanism during operation and for quick and easy programming.

Surveillance Camera Pan and Tilt Decoder

Designer: shawshack
Level: Intermediate

This device can provide up to six relay outputs that can be configured to operate as momentary or latching outputs with your current security camera system or DVR. It acts as an interface with systems that have a Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) capability and use RS-485, and the Pelco-D or Pelco-P standard. It can be set to 255 possible address combinations allowing multiple units to be used together.

Making x10 Appliance Modules with LED and CFL Lighting

Designer: Kman101
Level: Beginner

LED bulbs dimly illuminate when a x10 appliance module is off and some CFLs can trick the appliance module's local control circuitry and force the device to stay on. This project kit resolves those problems with a very simple circuit that does not defeat the local control feature of the x10 module.

Parking Radar Kit

Velleman Inc.
Level: Intermediate

If you're having parking problems, then this kit is for you! A sensor mounted at the back of your car indicates the distance between it and the car parked behind you or other obstacles. Distance is measured using ultrasonic sound waves at a frequency beyond our range of hearing. When the preset minimum distance is crossed, an audible signal sounds. This kit can also be used as robot eyes for sensing objects.
