Touch Sensitive Light Painter

Prank Box

Go-Anywhere LED Digital Message Board Kit

Take three matrix display panels, an Ardweeny microcontroller and a standard PS/2 computer keyboard and create your own go-anywhere digital message board. The digital message board is perfect for score keeping at sporting events, advertising, special greetings – the possibilities are endless.

Lunchtime Clock Kit

Portable Retro Hi-Fi Speaker

Portable audio is a pain, especially if it's a huge boombox that runs you broke having to replace its D batteries, a bad-sounding iPod dock or a virtually silent mini speaker set. For the true music lover, build your own rechargeable, self-powered portable Hi-Fi speaker to use with your iPod or smartphone.

The designer was bummed when he accidently burned out the main driver from one of his bookshelf speakers. After collecting dust for a period of time he became inspired to turn it into a portable speaker by installing a rechargeable battery charger circuit and amplifier.

Arduino Waveform Generator Shield


Level: Beginner

Waveform generators are helpful for testing and debugging circuits. It can also be used to test the frequency response of electronic components like op amps and sensors. It can even characterize and troubleshoot audio effect boxes and pedals. Powered by an Arduino, it outputs four waveforms: sine, triangle, pulse and saw, each waveform ranges in frequency from 1Hz to 50kHz.

The frequency, pulse width and overall amplitude (gain) of the waveforms is controlled by three potentiometers. Four indicator LEDs let you know which type of wave is currently being outputted.

Pocket Sized Guitar Amp


Level: Intermediate

The need to hook up an electric guitar to an amp to hear the guitar's sounds can be a challenge. Not a problem with the milli-AMP. Using a bridged LM386N amplifier circuit, the milli-AMP produces in the neighborhood of two watts of output power.

The rechargeable 9V battery provides an hour of full volume play per charge. The milli-AMP is more powerful than any commercially available amp of its size – 2.25" x 3.5" x 1". The volume is controlled by the volume pot on the guitar and it controls distortion as well.
