There's a variety of fun and challenging robotic kits on Club Jameco. From the beginner level to the intermediate level, you can build your own robotic hand or miniature robots that are attracted to light. Get creative with these kits and remember to vote for your favorites!

DIY Robotic Hand Shadow

Designer: anshulsanam
Level: Beginner

Perfect for DIY beginners, this mechanical hand kit is a great introduction to robotics. Just solder the components on to the PCB, connect the servos that are connected to the "hand" and plug in the flex sensors on the glove. Based on an Arduino platform, this "handy" kit is easily hackable, too. You will need to construct a hand too.

PWM Stepper Motor Driver

Designer: npol1
Level: Intermediate

This device lets you control a stepper motor using a circuit and servo PWM signal from an R/C controller, Arduino or microcontroller. The circuit operates the stepper motor analogous to a standard or continuous rotation servo depending on the mode, and both half and full step modes are supported. The onboard circuitry limits winding current, allowing you to use any bipolar stepper motor and any supply voltage from 6 to 36 volts.

Line Follower Kit

Designer: Howard
Level: Intermediate

A differential drive system causes this line-following cart to steer left or right to stay over a black line drawn over a white surface. You'll need some crafting items to complete this kit including foam or thin plywood, craft sticks, a small piece of dowel and a furniture glide.

Picaxe-based IR Control Module Pair

Designer: msbates
Level: Intermediate

The infrared (IR) transmitter and receiver pair included in this kit use a 38 kHz frequency to communicate instructions. The receiver is powered by the host circuit and the transmitter comfortably fits on top of an included two AAA battery holder. A 2-pin bus is also included that can be used to control anything attached to it.

J-Bot Robot Kit

Jameco KitPro
Level: Intermediate

Build your own roaming J-Bot robot that can move freely without supervision. The included PING))) ultrasonic sensor detects objects in your J-Bot's way and maneuvers around them. If you add an Arduino UNO microcontroller board to your J-Bot, you can customize it to function to your specific commands. An Arduino Uno or equivalent is required.
